THE STUDENTS' ABILITY IN WRITING DESCRIPTIVE PARAGRAPH AT FOURTH SEMESTER ENGLISH DEPARTMENT OF STKIP YPM BANGKO ACADEMIC YEAR 2019/2020

Abstract

This study to Students Ability in Writing Descriptive Paragraph at Fourth Semester English Department STKIP YPM Bangko. The problem of the research based on the background are the students The students were difficulties in making an paragraph, The student was lack of grammar, The students difficult using vocabulary in writing. This study uses Brown's theory, the intensive writing of spelling tasks using write a paragraph, the tests consists student ability in grammar, vocabulary, or sentence formation and not necessarily to convey meaning for an authentic purpose.The designed of the research that used descriptive quanti tative. research population is set or colection off all elements possessing one more attributes of interest. A population is defined as all member of class, events or objects. In this research the population of students fourth semester english department in STKIP YPM BANGKO Academic year 2019/2020, Totality all of students 24 of the students. The technique of collecting data used an analysis, the method would be used by the researcher to get the data in this research in test by five component paragraph there are format, mechanics, content, organization, and grammar structure sentence. In fact data showed that the mean of the students ability in writing descriptive paragraph with the highest score only two students were got score 95, and the lowest score only one student were got score 75.
